The past couple days sure have been interesting. The internet was a-blaze with angry words across every forum, blog, and comment block available to an ear that might listen. The voices were screaming about how evil Activision is, and how they are killing creativity. They typed, with furious tapping of the keys; “Down with Bobby, off with his head!” Meanwhile, back at the ivory tower of Activision; heavy handed business decisions crpawse are being made. Activision is after all, a business, and when an employee threatens their way of life they eliminate the problem. Like a well oiled machined, this corporate entity churns out a series of lucky winnings and claims success through some kind of savvy business plan. They would seldom admit to over saturating the market with a brand or killing the relevance of a franchise through annual releases. The truth is that we’ve seen this all before, but it was called Electronic Arts at the time. EA has lost a little kick in its step over the recent years. The once great tyrant of the gaming industry has taken a good beating from the public. It has weathered lawsuits from overworked staff, and even found a way to reverse the stigma that was once worn as a crown of pride for the former king. Why the change of heart for the former champion? Why has EA tried to turn over a new leaf with creative new IPs and expanded their growth potential through casual games? Money; it’s that simple. EA saw a decline in their profits and the direct correlation to their reputation. If you have a voice that wants to be heard you have to speak in a language that publishers understand. I can promise you that the shareholders of these publishers sit around the fireplace, in their smoking jackets and pipes, laughing at the online petitions that take shape. Why? Impotent Rage! They know that 99.999% of the people who sign that petition are only doing it to feel like they are a part of something that is greater. These are also the same people who turn around and purchase the very products and services that they have been fighting against. It’s like a written statement that says, “I will be there on opening day.” Do you remember that petition for dedicated servers on Modern Warfare 2? Yeah, that’s what I thought.

Sehvekah: Maybe I’m just weird, but I *like* topping the meters by (sometimes well) more than 1k DPS with everyone wow gold else doing 1.5k-2k. Yes, it’s an ego thing, but not like your knee-jerk reaction would indicate. See, when I’m in a group where *everyone* (including the tank and “healer”) is doing 2.5k-5k+, I get my emblems, it’s quick, sometimes I get an achievement — but I never feel like I really *did* anything. Sure, nobody died, but even with emblems or the odd bit of loot from the IC five-mans, I walk away wondering what the point was.
When I’m blowing up the meters with a group of more-or-less fresh 80s, though, it really wow gold feels like I’m *doing* something. I know I’m helping the tank hold aggro via glyphed TotT+FoK combo. I’m keeping the healer in mana by making things die faster before they cause too many problems. I’m helping the other DPSs by making their run that extra bit faster. Everyone (is) getting their emblems and sometimes upgrades from drops, there’s the odd achievement, and damn it, the slower run makes it feel more like *something actually happened* beyond my getting two EoF for T10 and a few EoTs closer to kitting my ‘lock out in heirlooms.
And that’s without mentioning the fact that wow gold these groups often have actual *conversations* and sometimes the awe of those new to the game, experiencing these “tired old dungeons” for the first time. Hell, it even gives me time to slow down a bit and actually *look* at the places I’ve been running though. So many times I’ve run Old Kingdom without paying attention to anything more than the loot pinatas scattered throughout, and that was really stupid on my part. A lot of these places are really awesome and deserve to be savored, rather than rushed through.
So to all the newbs, thank you. You’re making my playtime that much wow gold more fun, so I’ll do my part to help you get the loot you need in return. To those who think recount/DPS means everything, go eat s*$@.

If you want your voice to be heard, for the love of all that is sacred to you, stay true to your word. If you have a protest to make, find the people or organizations that control the money. Write physical letters to the primary investors, and don’t scream in all CAPS about your petty concerns. Unify your voice with groups who feel the same. Become an organized voice with a single purpose. Change has a greater chance through unity than through random assertions, scattered on the web.
